How to hide article’s content on the main page
As this template got ‘Read More’ function, you probably want to hide some text from being displayed on the main page. In fact, you just need some extremely easy step to achieve this. Simply copy the highlighted code below, then go to Settings -> Formatting, paste the code into the ‘Post Template’.
<span class=”fullpost”></span>
On the next time you write an article, you just need to add this line of code to hide the text. For example,
Suggested by Daniel Mora in Template Suggestion #1, Color Paper is an extremely artistic yet professional template. <span class=”fullpost”>Discover Color Paper today and it’s time to make an change for your artistic satisfaction!</span>
Then the main page would show only the ‘Suggested by Daniel Mora in Template Suggestion #1, Color Paper is an extremely artistic yet professional template’, while the other text is hid and only can be seen through ‘Read More’ click.
Set up the ‘Featured Content’ on the top of the main page
To setup the featured content, simply copy the code below, then go to Layout -> Page Element, clicks on the ‘Edit’ of the ‘featured content’, paste and edit the code with the your own content.
<h3><a href=’ORIGINAL-POST-LINK-HERE’ title=’POST-TITLE’>POST TITLE</a></h3>
<p>Hi, please place your part of post content here.</p>
<div class=”post-meta”>
<a class=”btn btn-teal” href=’ORIGINAL-POST-LINK-HERE’>Read More</a>
</div>
Set up the theme color
As this template is named as ‘Color Paper’, it actually got color-switching feature, which you can switch the color of some part such as ‘Read More’ to Orange, Teal, Pink, Purple, and Green color.
To make this work, go to Layout -> Edit HTML, check the ‘Expand Widget Templates’ then press [CTRL+F3] to find the highlighted code below and replace with any of the color described above.
<a class=’btn btn-teal’ expr:href=’data:post.url’>Read More</a>
<span class=’teal’>1</span> Comment
<b:else/>
<span class=’teal’><data:post.numComments/></span> <data:commentLabelPlural/>
<span class=’teal weight-bold verdana block large’>

I can’t get the date to work. I changed it like you said, but it is still showing up undefined. this is in the Color Paper Template. Can you tell me what to do to make it correct?
Thanks
Thanks for your report! I have checked the template and the date is working properly, noted that you need to change the ‘Timestamp Format’ but not ‘Date Header Format’.
Hope this helps and enjoy blogging with Color Paper template!

Wow, this template size 1,5 mb too heavy , why??
The image size for this template is very big.
I like this template very much. More then the other ones. I would like to ask the owner to keep it developing and making it better, because i woult like to see it work 100%.
1) The color switching feature could work.
2) The date sticker on the left side could be wider. It should say January not just Jan. I live in Estonia and January in estonia is Jaanuar and its Jaa for short and thats a little funny. It should say Jaanuar.
3) Under the post, where the comments are should be a exact date when the post was published.
4) Post title section should be higher, so i can put pictures there. Now its to low and the picture is wierd. i have to look for widescreen picture that look good.
Other than that its perfect
Nice to meet you, I’m glad that you love this template!
Wow, your recommendations are simply great and suggestive! I would take these into consideration for the next major upgrade.
Hope for your suggestion to other template, thanks!

Hi there I have finally decide to jump in and join the blog wagon (yes iam new to this) and with that being said my knowledge in this area is limited. I really love the look and design of this template but when I downloaded it and tried to unzip the file it gave me a response that it has no files to extract. Of course this could all be operator error but I have tried to unzip,double click and download again and to no avail. Do you have any recommendations as to what my next step should be? …. this is maybe a sign that I should not have a blog.
Thanks
Thanks for your detailed report! I have checked the file and it’s working very well, you can try the winrar which you can download it in the following URL:
http://www.rarsoft.com/download.htm
This should be a sign that you would pass every challenge to build a great blog!

i need help with the read more feature…i placed the code in my posts but i don’t know where to put the code in the layout html page.
you said to put it in the post template part under settings but i don’t know where to find it…could you be more specific?
please disregard my previous question, i found it…but can it work on my old posts? i can’t seem to get it to work when testing on old post…
Hi, I am using this template for my blog, but am facing persistent issues with the ‘read more’ feature. The entire post shows even though the “fullpost” style definition and tags are in place.
Any help is appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance.
Hi! I LOVE this template!! I am finding that I’m going to need to switch to a 3 column layout, though – any chance you’d consider making a 3 column version of Color Paper??
I’m glad that you love this template! Mmm, currently not considering on producing 3 column version, but willing to produce a better template than this!

I have tried to put a picture in the featured content section. I used the directions above. It will be fine for a day but then a little blue question mark box shows up instead of the picture… I checked it when I was logged in and logged out but it made no difference. Is there a trip to putting a picture in that section?
I tried to upload and activate this template but it gave me a message that the theme is broken…? Any advice?
Hi mate,
I like your work, and I’m using your “Color Paper” template for one of my blogs. Apperantely most of my friends use IE6, would be great if you can make it compatible with this/older version as well.
Issue with IE6: Right side column sticks below the left column post.
Many Thanks,
Rakesh
Awesome template and I’m getting a lot of custom things figured out but can’t seem to get two things…
1. how to take the words off the left that say “change colors!” pointing to the tabs. Do the tabs do anything?
2. I can create pages, but the buttons for them are no where to be found.
Thanks for the help!
Bonjour,
Merci pour ce superbe template !
Pouvez vous m’aider à comprendre comment changer la date sur le petit onglet à gauche? Je n’y arrive pas!
Merci !
Hi…I have my blog up and running but in order for people to leave a comment they have to click on Read More…it also says 0 Comments by Emily Lucarz. Thats me. How do I get it to people can leave a comment without having to click Read more? Thanks!
